| INSULATION |
-
This property varies with the unit of weight of the concrete
which is dependent on the volume of pumice in the mix. The thermal
conductivity factor for normal weight concrete (145 p.c.f.)
is 12 as compared to 3.5 for concrete with a density of 100
p.c.f. and 1.9 for 60 p.c.f. |
| PERMEABILITY |
-
Despite the porous nature of the aggregate, concrete batched
with "AGG-LITE" has absorption characteristics very
similar to normal weight concrete. "VAC-LITE" saturated
pumice aggregate has nearly 90% external saturation and is used
mostly for pumping into place or to eliminate concrete slump
variations from batch to job site. |
